Champion Training
The Champion Workshop is focused on linking the specific
project opportunities to the business strategic goals. The workshop
will lead the Champions through the application of effective management
tools to relate the key business strategies and project areas identified
in the Executive Workshop to specific projects to meet the Six Sigma
goals. The class leads participants through defining roles and responsibilities
and linking Six Sigma projects with business objectives. It provides
a solid understanding of project selection, project chartering and project
management.
Outline:
- Review current and past improvement efforts and their results
- Identify potential project areas and metrics for measurement
of improvement (new markets, sales growth, reliability improvement,
product simplification, cost reduction, cycle time reduction,
etc.)
- Baseline calculation of performance (COPQ, Capacity-Productivity,
Rolled Throughput Yield, Sales Forecasts, Warranty, Market Studies)
for core products and processes
- With Design for Six Sigma, introduce deliverables/outcomes and
their integration into your stage gate product development process
Deliverables from the workshop include:
- Review of Executive Session Goals and Project Clusters
- Goal Tree linking the project clusters to projects
- Prioritized list of projects supporting the business strategy
- Resources (Black Belts) associated with the prioritized projects
- Chartering Black Belt projects
