Uniworld believes conferences should introduce your
firm to practical approaches with proven results. Following
our deployment model, our events begin with a methodology outline
followed by tools application detailing client case studies. Our conferences
conclude with workshops engaging participants to explore some of the
key applications within their own business, and to share experiences
across industries. How would the application of this knowledge
enhance your own business?
Uniworld’s conferences allow your firm to stay up
to date with the latest tools, assess your firm’s application and
knowledge level, and efficiently evaluate whether a comparable more
detailed on-site workshop would increase your firm’s competitive ability.
November
2-3, 2005: Orlando, FL:
3rd Annual Best Practices in Six Sigma
Uniworld sponsored track:
Advanced Design for Six Sigma and Innovation
Uniworld will lead the conference and workshop track
focused on the most powerful tools in Design for Six Sigma.
The first day will explore methodologies to identify opportunities,
innovatively create solutions, and then reduce design cycle time with
statistically based reliability testing. Specific case studies
will range from chemical applications, to commodity industrial products.
Participant assessment of their firms’ knowledge, application and
success of design specific tools will also be conducted and assessed
across industries.
Parallel interactive workshops will be held on the
second morning. The first track will extensively explore identifying
customers, value, and areas to create differentiators, the starting
point of any DFSS effort. The second track will more fully explore
the Triz Innovation Methodology, taking participants through Uniworld’s
practical application of this underutilized tool. Make your
Design brainstorming sessions more productive by learning how to explore
proven solutions already existing in other industries.
Both tracks of workshop participants will be able
understand the applications of the methods to their Design for Six
Sigma efforts, and will have preliminary working knowledge of these
tools applied to their projects.
Site Tour of Northrop Grumman Avondale Operations
is available on the afternoon of the 5th, morning of the 6th.

April 17-19, 2005 :
Trizcon 2005: 7th Annual Triz Conference, Brighton, Michigan
Corporate Triz Users Panel Discussion
The panel explored the fit of the TRIZ (Theory of
Innovative Problem Solving) methodology with other quality techniques
from differing user perspectives. Uniworld participated
as the Six Sigma leader in the use of Triz. Uniworld emphasized
that Triz is a key tool for allowing a team to create new and innovative
solutions to their design challenges, based on successful solutions
already proven in other industries. Uniworld has integrated
a half day overview of TRIZ, examples and exercises into the Concept
phase of Design for Six Sigma and has integrated three days of further
TRIZ tools and details into Uniworld’s Innovation for Six Sigma
methodology. Additionally, our three day Innovation modular
workshops help teams to explore TRIZ solutions for business, process
or product design challenges. Uniworld believes that the integration
of practical tools, including Triz, into an overall Six Sigma methodology
will bring stronger results, as opposed to using individual tools
in an isolated manner.

February 1 &
2, 2005: Phoenix, Arizona: Design for Six Sigma Conference and Workshop
Uniworld and Decisioneering lead a Design for Six
Sigma conference followed with a workshop. The conference took participants
through the DFSS roadmap. Specific case study applications delivered
by Uniworld, Decisioneering, Ideation International, and our customers
presented the application of DFSS across a wide range of industries
from automotive to pharmaceuticals.
The second day featured two workshops delivered simultaneously. The
first workshop, Driving the Top Line with Innovation, had the participants
identify value, voice of the customer, customer dimensions, and key
innovation opportunities. In the second workshop, Assessing your DFSS
Deployment, participants learned key items in a DFSS deployment, observed
benchmark data, and assessed their own DFSS deployment's key strengths
and opportunities.
